Consul-General of Thailand in Mumbai Visits Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to Strengthen Cooperation and Expand Consular Network with Local Authorities (1/3)

On 21 September 2026, Ms. Siriporn Supanimitwisetkul, Consul-General of Thailand in Mumbai, accompanied by the Consulate-General's officials, met with Mr. Anupam Singh Gehlot, Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad City, Gujarat.
 
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Consulate-General and the Ahmedabad City Police, on consular affairs, especially consular assistance for Thai nationals in Gujarat. The Consul-General reaffirmed the Consulate-General's readiness to cooperate closely with the Police Commissioner and proposed establishing a contact point between the two sides to facilitate a swift exchange of information, enabling the Consulate-General to render timely assistance and ensuring the welfare of Thai nationals in Gujarat.
 
Furthermore, the Consul-General visited detained Thai nationals at the Joint Interrogation Center in Ahmedabad. The delegation inquired about their well-being and offered to pass on messages to their families in Thailand.
 
On this occasion, the Consul-General also expressed appreciation to the Police Commissioner for ensuring the well-being of the detained Thai nationals and sought his continued support in safeguarding the welfare of Thai nationals in Gujarat. The Police Commissioner assured his commitment to the protection of all foreign nationals, including Thai nationals in Gujarat.
