Celebrating the 88th Birthday Anniversary of King Bhumubol Adulyadej

            On 4 December 2015, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai held a reception to celebrate the 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thai National Day at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The event was presided over by the Consul-General, with the presence of Mr. Sumit Mullick, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Protocol of Maharashtra Government. There were approximately 250 participants including representatives from Maharashtra Government, member of consular corps, Indian and Thai private sectors, Thai Community, and Thai students from Pune.

            During the official ceremony, Consul-General delivered a speech to honour His Majesty’s determination and devotion to improve the quality of life of Thai people through various development projects including “Sufficient Economy” which is the philosophy behind His Majesty’s guidelines for the Thai population’s way of life. He also emphasized the close relationship between Thailand and India especially through cultural ties.
