On 25-26 January 2028, Mr. Donnawit Poolsawat, Thai Consul-General to Mumbai, and Ms. Thitiporn Chuchinnawat, Consul, attended the Global Village 2025 Exhibition in Surat, Gujarat, organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI). At the event, the Consul-General met with representatives from the food and beverage, health and wellness, and well as tourism industries from the Southern Gujarat region. He also met with Mr. Paresh Bhatt, CEO of the SGCCI Global Connect, to discuss ways to further enhance trade and tourism with the region. Both sides agree that the current direct flights between Surat and Bangkok (4 times/week), inaugurated in December 2024, will help to boost trade and people-to-people exchanges in the future.
