On 18 February 2016, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai organized the Workshop on Consular Issues and Thai Massage Therapy in Goa.  The workshop provided Thai citizens with opportunity to receive consular services as well as learn about consular issues, especially the legal employment status in India.  In addition, the expert from Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicines gave hand-on lessons on Thai traditional massage for Thai and Indian massage therapists, university students and interested public.    The 50 participants were satisfied with the workshop where they learned skills of healing massage for themselves as for clients.  Most of all, once the participants came to understand the real meaning of Thai massage, they are eager to spread the words to overcome the existing negative image Thai massage has in Indian society.  The Consulate-General also used this opportunity to promote our culinary culture through the tastes of Thai food and the beauty of fruit crafting prepared by Thai ladies residing in Goa.
