Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai donated to support the studies of Buddhism

On 14 June 2013, Mr. Nat Pinyowattanacheep, Consul-General, presented a donation to Mr. Samir Somaiya, Vice President of Somaiya Vidyavihar with a purpose of supporting research in the field of Buddhist studies. Dr. K.Sankarnatayan, Director of K.J.Samaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies, and Asst. Prof. Meenakshi Rajan, Director International Relations, were also present.

On this occasion, both sides discussed potential areas of cooperation between Somaiya Vidyavihar and concerned entities in Thailand, including academic cooperation with Thai academia in Buddhist studies and management, cooperation with the Consulate-General in promoting Thai culture in Western India, and cooperation to initiate activities to link Indian and Thai students in order to enhance their international exposure and to promote mutual understanding.
