Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand’s Father’s Day 2025

On 25 November 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai held a reception to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day 2025 at Jade Sky, Nehru Centre, Mumbai. The reception was hosted by Mr. Donnawit Poolsawat, Consul-General of Thailand. Mr. Rajesh Gawande, Chief of Protocol of the Government of Maharashtra, attended as the Chief Guest, along with approximately 250 guests, including representatives from India’s public and private sectors, media, academics, members of the consular corps, Team Thailand, and the Thai community in Mumbai and its vicinity. The event started with a video in remembrance of Her Majesty the Late Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, followed by a moment of silence to honour the memory and enduring legacy of Her Majesty the Late Queen Mother.

On this occasion, the Consul-General delivered a speech paying tribute to His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, highlighting his enduring legacy and dedication to improving the wellbeing of all Thais throughout his 70-year reign. The Consul-General also emphasised the deep bond between Thailand and India, as well as the strong and dynamic nature of our partnership which was reflected in the elevation of Thai-India relations to a Strategic Partnership in April 2025. Additionally, the Consul-General reaffirmed the Government of Thailand’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation with India across all sectors for the progress and prosperity of both countries and the region. In his remarks, Mr. Rajesh Gawande commended the close relations between Thailand and India, particularly people-to-people ties, and expressed India’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Thailand under India’s Act East Policy in areas including trade, investment, sub-regional connectivity, tourism, religion, and culture.

At the reception, there were also several exhibitions and activities to promote Thailand in Mumbai, including Thai product promotion booth by the Thai Trade Office in Mumbai, Thai tourism promotional videos by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Mumbai Office), and Thai cuisine cooking demonstration by the Consulate-General.
